Whole-genome and whole-exome sequencing are increasingly useful diagnostic tools for novel monogenic conditions. Yet, due to current limitations on the size of matchmaking networks and data sets available to support them, identifying a match can be difficult. We argue that matchmaking efforts led by affected individuals and their families-participant-led efforts-offer a twofold solution to this need, in that participants both have the capacity to access larger networks and to provide more detailed sets of phenotypic and genotypic data. These features of participant-led efforts have the potential to increase the value of matchmaking networks, both in terms of number of matches and in terms of the overall energy of the network. We provide two examples of participant-led matchmaking, and propose a model for scaling these efforts. Forged Alliance Forever
Alliance Wars pit one alliance versus another for a chance at war loot and to fill war chests. Wars are much like raids in terms of gameplay, except that war energy rather than raid energy is used, the defending team is given additional aid, and full participation requires a total of 30 heroes rather than 5. Each player in the alliance attempts to gain points for their alliance by defeating enemy heroes.
When the timer runs out, the alliance with the most points wins. Points for the alliance remain, even if a player leaves the alliance. Completely defeated teams revive after a period of time, which increases with each defeat.

What influences our youth to set aside their enterprising, free-wheeling spirit to follow the well-trodden path of arranged marriages? Part of the answer lies in the deep socialisation process, which is woven into the fabric of the close-knit extended Indian family, and its rootedness in the larger network of society. The young too seem to believe in the cultural definition of marriage as a family affair, rather than an individual undertaking.
Harmony and shared values arising from common backgrounds are seen as more important than individual attraction. The common grounds provided by an arranged match — familiar customs, foods, relatives, incomes, etc — also helps in negotiating the dark thicket of matchmaking. The upside is also that this aids the adjustment process with the new partner and family, a stand-in for what is seen as the variable element of love.
When it comes to daughters, the disciplining fetters become even tighter, since a tarnished reputation would scupper her chances in the marriage market. With whom? But in India it continues well into adulthood. It translates into interference in career decisions, choice of friends, dietary preferences, etc.
